Head Corrosion at Brunel

JOB TITLE: HEAD CORROSION (ENERGY VC17822)
LOCATION: Lagos

JOB
Prepare and implement Corrosion-Prevention Policy.
Schedule and execute Corrosion Surveys and Studies and recommend the necessary, remedial actions.
Ensure that corrosion-monitoring operations are correctly performed as per COMPANY best practice
Review Corrosion-Monitoring and Inspection results regularly and assess together in view of providing a global evaluation of Integrity.
Supervise and validate yearly Coating-Integrity Surveys on all structures, equipment & modules of the Assets
Validate the scope of work. Follow budget and planning for Corrosion-Monitoring and Painting Campaigns.
Generate clear and concise Corrosion Reports, following Planned and Ad-hoc Inspections
Liaise with COMPANY Headquarters for corrosion matters with the aim of improving the physical integrity of Production Facilities.
Investigate and analyse Facility malfunctions from the stand point of Corrosion Evolutions and, in liaison with the Inspection Teams Onshore and Offshore, propose solutions to repair the equipment and prevent repetitions of the problem. 
Ensure that Cathodic Protection systems are effective and optimally maintained, and that Cathodic Protection levels of Facilities are adequate.
Investigate and analyse Cathodic Protection results. Report any anomalies and propose solutions to prevent repetitions of the problem
Prepare Corrosion Methods, Management Systems, tools, Planning, Contracts and Cost Control of corrosion activities.
Prepare individual Service/task Procedures to ensure that all activities are carried out according to those Procedures and in strict compliance with Safety Regulations and Procedures contained therein.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering) .
Higher qualification in Corrosion Engineering (MSc or NACE Snr Corrosion Technologist)
5 years’ experience in Corrosion Engineer’s functions, preferably in E&P
Excellent communication and negotiation-skills. 
Coating Inspectors Certification by a recognized body, (e.g. B.Gas/ NACE), would be an advantage

  • NIGERDOCK COATING SUPERVISOR (ENERGY VC16243)

DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICE:
The SERVICE consists of:

To achieve HSE Project objectives
To ensure that coating and cathodic protection CP activities at site are fully compliant with Project requirements
To identify and report any non-conformance with Project requirements

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES:
1. To monitor surface preparation, coating and cathodic protection related activities done by Contractor and ensure that activities are fully compliant with Project requirements, specifications, codes, drawings, etc.
2. To ensure that coating & CP record books are properly documented and maintained by Contractor
3. To be aware of the Project specifications and ensure Contractor compliance in relation with Structure Supervisor
4. To perform all Company quality inspections relating to coating & CP
5. To promote application of TEPNG policies, rules, procedures, General Specifications and Project procedures
6. To identify any non-conformance with Project requirements, report to Structure Supervisor and follow-up remedial action by Contractor
7. To ensure that approved modifications are implemented and documented for as-built documentation
8. To be proactive in anticipating events or Contractor’s problems which may affect the successful completion of the Project objectives and inform Structure Supervisor and Site Representative
9. To assist with making of progress records and other key performance indicators
10. To produce accurate activity report to Structure Supervisor
11. To attend Project meetings as and when required

OTHER ACTIVITIES:
1. To promote, support and enforce the HSE Project objectives and directives
2. To make safety suggestions, report any anomalies, unsafe acts or conditions and follow the Anomaly Report procedure
3. To attend HSE meetings and training when required.

REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATION:

  1. B.Sc. chemical or mechanical engineering
  2. Professional experience: More than 10 years solid working experience in coating & CP jobs in Oil & Gas
  3. Experience with offshore structure and piping coating & CP works: 5 years
  4. Conversant with relevant ASME, AWS and API codes
  5. ACQPA, FROSIO or NACE qualification minimum Level 3certified by international body
  6. Proven leadership capabilities with strong organizational and coordination abilities
  7. Autonomous, self motivating and active team player
  8. Oral and written fluency in English mandatory
  9. Microsoft Office proficient

  • MARINE ADVISOR – OFFSHORE CONSTRUCTION (ENERGY VC16263)

MAIN FUNCTIONS

  1. Primary function is to run and actively participate in the NPO marine vessel performance monitoring (VPM) program.
  2. To support the Marine Lead on technical matters related to ships, barges and all other marine vessels.
  3. To provide marine systems expertise to all project management teams using marine vessels.
  4. To advise and actively participate, in the NPO marine pre hire vessel screening, selection and inspection process.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. To plan, organize, execute and monitor the quarterly VPM
  2. Administrate the vessel inspection database and generate KPI’s for vessel performance
  3. Participate in Pre-hire inspections and administrate reports within the database
  4. Investigation of vessel deficiencies reported by vessel leads, advise on rectifying actions to be taken by contractors.
  5. Offshore vessel Incident investigation team member.
  6. Advise projects on matters of class, flag and port state engineering requirements.
  7. Follow up inspections to verify contractors have closed out deficiencies.

REQUIREMENTS
  1. STCW 95 II/2 Class 1 Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (required)
  2. Senior DPO (Preferred)
  3. High level of marine systems knowledge, skill and experience
  4. Minimum 10-15 years experience to include 2 years served as Master or 5 years served as Chief Officer of Towing, AHT and PSV Vessels, Shore Side Marine Operations in Management of Vessels, a sound knowledge of all IMO and Class Requirements
