TITLE: AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST, NIGERIA
EXPERIENCE: Senior Level

POSITION OVERVIEW   
Banyan Global, an international development consulting firm, is recruiting a full time Senior Agricultural Development Specialist. This position is responsible for technical assistance and project management, and is based in Nigeria with in-country travel. The Agricultural Development Specialist Provide leadership and technical expertise to an agricultural transport and trade project.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or economics required. Degrees in agricultural related subjects will also be considered.
• Masters or higher focused on business, agricultural development, finance, economics, or international trade and investment preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
• 5+ years working in the field of economic and/or agricultural development
• Project management experience, including developing proposals, supervising staff, setting and monitoring indicators, and coordinating amongst a variety of stakeholders
• Experience with market research and economic feasibility studies, including experience with research tools and qualitative methods
• Experience with value chain research and facilitation.
• Experience with MSME development, direct business development services, access to capital, and training
• Experience with trade finance and export promotion
• Experience working with an international organization or NGO a plus.
• Successful track record of supervising teams of short- and long-term consultants
• Knowledge of and familiarity with USAID program requirements and rules and regulations

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Nigerian national strongly preferred
• Must be proficient in spoken and written English; fluency in one or more additional Nigerian languages a plus.
